# Why the map is not showing?

API key issue (billing, key services, restrict app, website), app hasn't been embedded into the theme, page hasn't been enabled, modified default locator page wrong

If your store map is showing an error saying **This page didn't load Google Maps correctly**, this indicates that Google has temporarily disabled your Google Maps key.

This may causes because **Your billing account hasn’t been set up**. You can follow the steps on this page to fix the error so your map can display normally.

To enable billing for your project:

1. Go to the [API Console](https://console.developers.google.com/).
2. From the projects list, select a project or create a new one.
3. Open the console left side menu and select **Billing** ![Billing](https://docs-shpf.bsscommerce.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Flh3.googleusercontent.com%2F1iIUQO7HKOug2n6FeE8NA4nSEo1bfEHdwmhJewEvo-w2E64muLljZ44HA8eKcVJuKb4%3Dh28\&width=300\&dpr=4\&quality=100\&sign=77571be7\&sv=1)
4. Click **Enable billing**. (If billing is already enabled then this option isn't available.)
5. If you don't have a billing account, create one.
6. Select your location, fill out the form, and click **Submit and enable billing**.

After you enable billing, any requests to billable APIs beyond their free courtesy usage limits are billed, subject to the billing terms of each API.

### Encountering difficulties with your Google API Key affecting the functionality of your map in Progus Store Locator? Here are possible solutions that may help you.

**1. Verify Google API Key:**

Ensure that the Google API Key you've entered in Progus Store Locator (in Settings->Apperance -> Map style -> Appropriate tab) is accurate and hasn't expired. Access your [Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials) to confirm the key's validity.

**2. Enable Required APIs:**

Check that the necessary Google APIs are enabled for your project. This includes **Places API**, **Maps JavaScript API**, and **Geocoding API**. Enable them if they're not already activated. Follow below steps to manage your Google APIs:

1\. Go to the [APIs management panel](https://console.cloud.google.com/google/maps-apis/api-list).

2\. Optional: Select your Google project if required.

3\. Find the **Places API.**

4\. Click "Enable" button. If you see "Disable", it means this API is already active.

5\. Do 3 and 4 steps for **Maps Javascript API** and **Geocoding API**.

**3. API Restrictions:**

By default no restrictions are added to your Google API Key. If you were adding a website url restrictions make sure to add this url:

This is required, because your store locator is run within iframe from our servers.

Moreover, review any restrictions applied to your Google API Key. Adjust restrictions if needed, especially if you've recently made changes to your project or usage requirements.

**4. Billing Information:**

Ensure that your Google Cloud account has valid billing information. You can check your billing accounts here: [https://console.cloud.google.com/billing](https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials)

**5. Check Quotas and Limits:**

Verify if you've exceeded any quotas or usage limits associated with your Google API Key. Google provides detailed usage reports in the Cloud Console.

**6. Review Error Messages:**

If you encounter error messages (in the web console), carefully review them for insights into the problem. Google's error messages often provide clues about the nature of the issue. Below are most possible Google Errors:

* **BillingNotEnabledMapError** - This error typically indicates that billing has not been enabled for the project associated with the API key that is being used. Here you can read more information how to fix it:
